Bathurst is located 207 kilometres north west of Sydney. It is the oldest town in Australia to settle inland.

Established in 1815, Bathurst was the main base for exploring other parts of inland New South Wales. By 1851, Australia's first payable gold was discovered in the Bathurst region, leaving the area with a notable history.
