DIVISIVE will contest the Shirley Turnbull Memorial (2535 metres) at Bathurst on Friday night.
Divisive, which has had no luck in two starts since winning the Miracle Mile at Harold Park on November 28, is trained and driven by Peter Rixon. Rixon's wife, Cindy, is the youngest daughter of the late Shirley Turnbull and legendary trainer-driver Tony Turnbull."The race is of special significance to the family, but Divisive would not be heading there if he had not pulled up well following his ninth in the Victoria Cup last Saturday night in which he had no luck," Rixon said. The clash of Divisive and Karloo Mick, both Inter-Dominion grand final runners-up behind Blacks A Fake, looms as a highlight. Divisive was second at Moonee Valley in March and Karloo Mick was runner-up in Hobart in 2006.The Shirley Turnbull Memorial is the prestige race for trainers in the Western Districts.
